Land contamination (Williamtown)

This is a class action (the Class Action) against the Department of Defence (Defence) in connection with land contamination arising from Defence’s use of aqueous film forming foam at the Williamtown RAAF Base in NSW (the Contamination). It is alleged that Defence allowed the Contamination to escape from its land causing damage to property owners and businesses for which Defence should be liable to pay compensation.

The Class Action is being run by Dentons Lawyers, with proceedings funded by Omni Bridgeway Limited.

Participating in the case


Dentons have filed the claim on a 'closed class basis'. This means the Class Action is brought only on behalf of eligible property and business owners who entered into a litigation funding agreement with Omni Bridgeway prior to 4 October 2019.

Current Stage of Case
